APRIL FISH
Round Lemon would like to introduce you to ZEST Hall’s ‘April Fish’ exhibition. The theme of this show was humour. It explored the role of hilarity in art and how it functions as an enduring directness to the meaning of the work, breaking the gap between familiarity and formality. The works featured in the show investigate serious issues or theories of our society through an “unserious” approach. The artworks have been produced in a variety of mediums, stretching from themes of absurdity, parody, satire to surreal humour.
Featuring the works of 14 artists from all around the globe, the purpose of this exhibition is to make light of current concerns and subjects while analysing what makes us laugh in the process of art-making and why.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who applied for this exhibition, our guest writers, and also for your generous donations. Without your support, this show would not have been possible.
A list of all the artists featured in this show is available at the bottom of this page.
